Water / Sewer Service - Refer to Chapter 700 Water and Sewer Service and Rates

Water meters are read by the 20th of each month and bills are sent within a few days after.
Bills include the following:
- Water
- Sewer
- Primacy Fee
- Trash Service
- City & State Taxes for Businesses
- 1 X Per Year: Sewer Connection Fee
Bills are due by the 10th of each month
- As of the 11th, a 10% fee is assessed and added to the total bill due
Late notices are mailed the 1st business day after the 10th and shut offs will occur, by ordinance, on the 16th of the month.
Additional fees are then assessed as the following:
- 1st shutoff - $10 deposit & $10 reconnect fee
- Any subsequent - $15 deposit & $50 reconnect fee
As a courtesy, we offer for residents to sign a Water Agreement Form:
- This extends the current bill due to the 3rd of the following month
- Only one can be signed per billing cycle
- Any unpaid accounts will be shut off the 1st business day after the 3rd
During the warmer months (May - Sept) - Residents can sign up for Summer Sewer Adjustments:
- This replaces the previous "1 X Pool Fill Adjustment" with a 3 month adjustment on the sewer charge for extra usage that may occur for pools, garden, sprinklers, etc.
- Can choose May - July, June - August, or July - September

Animal Regulations - Refer to Chapter 205 Animal Regulations

Per codes, "No person shall own or keep within the city any dog or cat over the age of six (6) months without first obtaining a license therefore from City Hall"
Pet tags are available each year, beginning in January
Cost is $2.50 each and current proof of rabies vaccination required
No more than 4 cats or dogs, in any combination, shall be kept by any resident
Dogs and cats are to be properly restrained or kept on a leash
Running at large prohibited
Fees for pick up and impoundment will be assessed
Animals being held at the city impound are kept for no longer than 10 days, and then transferred to the Lamar City Pound

Trash Services

Trash collection is provided by BSW in Lockwood, MO
Trash is collected Wednesday, early morning.
$13.55 per month fee is included on the Water Bill
Trash must be placed in a container no larger than 35 gallons or more than 50 lbs per container. No 55 gallon drums or paper grocery sacks please
Only household garbage will be collected. Items not accepted include the following:
- Yard waste, brush, tires, rocks, dirt, batteries, appliances, hazardous waste, motor oil, paint, dead animals or animal waste
Yearly, during the last two weeks of April, will be the City Wide Clean Up. This is an opportunity for residents to "Spring Clean". Dumpsters will be located at the Public Works Building for residential use only! Items not accepted include:
- Yard waste, batteries, auto parts, chemicals, hazardous waste, asbestos, tires, oils, building materials, etc... (Large appliances may be placed outside the dumpster for pickup)

Brush Pick Up / Burning In City Limits

As of April 2025, brush pickup is by request only.
Public Works employees will not be driving each road for pickup
As always, residents are welcome to use the city's burn pile for brush, limbs, & yard waste only!
- This is located just NW of the Public Works Building. Follow the gravel road back and keep to the left. If you made it to the Waste Water Facility, you have gone too far.

For Burning in City Limits, please refer to the City Codes below:
- Section 210.1085 Open Burning [Ord. No. 835, 8-23-2021]
  - No person shall burn household solid waste within the City limits. Household solid waste shall be deemed not to include the following: leaves, twigs and rakings from yards and gardens. It shall be permissible to burn such leaves twigs and rakings, paper materials, burn off yards, lots and gardens between the hours of 8:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M., provided, that such permissive burning shall at all times be supervised by a responsible person, and further, provided, that all permissive fires shall be completely extinguished at the hour of 10:00 P.M. It shall further be lawful for businesses to burn refuse if it is an integral part of the business, and businesses may also dispose of combustible materials which would be dangerous to haul in the parker trucks; however, any such burning by businesses shall be done in an approved incinerator.
